Privacy Policy

Effective Date: February 21st, 2025

MidBrain is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in how we collect, use, and safeguard your data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

1. Data Collection

1.1 Website Visitors

MidBrain’s website does not currently collect personal data, but in the future, we may collect basic analytics data, such as:

  • IP addresses (for security and analytics purposes)
  • Session tracking (to improve user experience)
  • Visitor frequency and engagement metrics (e.g., via Webflow’s built-in analytics)

1.2 Pre-Alpha Testers & Community Participants

For pre-alpha testing and community engagement, we may collect:

  • Email address (for test-related communication and waitlist purposes)
  • IP address (to verify participation regions)
  • Discord username (to manage tester access)
  • General location (continent-based, no precise geolocation)
  • User feedback (from Discord discussions and structured surveys)
  • Age group (not precise age, but grouped categories e.g., 18-26, 27-35)

Data Collected During Gameplay

  • When using MidBrain’s AI agents, we collect and store certain gameplay-related data, including timestamps, a pseudonymized MidBrain account identifier, session ID, the agent’s name and related metadata, and all chat interactions. This data is collected to improve AI performance and collect feedback.
  • Please note that while we do not request or intentionally collect personal data within chat logs, any information voluntarily shared by users in chat may be stored. At this stage, we do not have an automated filtering system to remove such data. We encourage users to avoid sharing personal or sensitive information in chat interactions.

This data helps us provide services, improve AI models, personalize user experience, ensure legal compliance, and conduct marketing activities.

We do not collect sensitive personal data such as health information, political beliefs, or biometric data.

2. How We Collect Data

  • Desktop app built-in analytics
  • Third-Party Services, such as Typeform, AWS, and built-in website analytics.
  • User Interactions: Via Discord conversations, feedback forms, and in-game actions

3. Data Usage & Sharing

3.1 Who Has Access to the Data?

  • The MidBrain team
  • Essential third-party service providers and partners

3.2 Data Sharing

  • We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.
  • We may share aggregated, anonymized demographic data (e.g., “55% of testers were male”) with investors or partners.

3.3 Data Storage

  • Website-related data is stored within Webflow’s internal system.
  • Feedback summaries may be compiled in Google Drive or other internal documentation tools.

4. Data Retention

  • Tester-specific personal data is retained until the product launch.
  • Aggregated insights (without identifiable information) may be retained indefinitely.
  • Waitlist data will be deleted once it has fulfilled its purpose, or upon request.

5. International Data Processing

  • Pre-alpha testing is currently limited to U.S.-based users.
  • Website data may be processed through third-party providers (e.g., Webflow) which may operate internationally.

6. User Rights & Control

  • Access & Deletion: Users can request deletion of their identifiable data by contacting us via the website’s contact form.
  • Opt-out: Users are informed of data usage before collection and may opt out of certain forms of tracking. In some cases, opting out of data collection may result in an inability to use the service. For example, certain data is required for participation in testing, and without it, access to the pre-alpha may not be possible.

7. Security & Compliance

We ensure GDPR compliance for website and form-based data. However, as our product is still in early development, we currently limit testing to U.S. users to comply with applicable regulations. While we take reasonable steps to verify user eligibility, we cannot fully prevent non-U.S. users from misrepresenting their location. By participating in the test, users confirm they meet the eligibility requirements.

8. Contact for Privacy Concerns

For any privacy-related inquiries, users can reach out via the website contact form.

9. Age Restrictions

  • Pre-alpha testing is limited to users 18+.
  • The website is accessible to all age groups.

10. AI & Data Processing

MidBrain’s AI processes data to improve functionality but does not store personal user interactions beyond necessary testing purposes.

11. Policy Updates

This policy will be updated as needed. Changes will be indicated by a version date at the top of this page. Users will not be individually notified but can review the latest version at any time.
